Orders take 1–2 business days to pack and process. From dispatch, Express Post typically arrives in 2–3 business days and Standard post in 4–7 business days, depending on where you are in Australia.

You'll receive a tracking number by email as soon as your order ships, so you can follow it door to door.

How do I track my order?

Every order is sent with tracking, no matter which shipping option you choose. Your tracking number is emailed to you within 48 hours of dispatch — if it hasn't landed, check your spam folder or email us at info@maltandbrew.com.

What happens if I'm not home for delivery?

Australia Post will safe-drop your parcel in a secure spot where possible. If there's nowhere safe to leave it, it will be carded to your local post office for collection.

Ordering & Payment

5 questions
What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit and debit cards and PayPal, plus buy-now-pay-later with Afterpay and Zip. Shop Pay, Apple Pay and Google Pay are there for fast checkout, and you can browse in AUD or your local currency — including NZD, GBP and EUR.

Can I change or cancel my order?

We pack quickly, so contact us at info@maltandbrew.com as soon as possible with your order number. If your order hasn't been dispatched yet, we'll happily update the address, swap an item or cancel it for you.

Do you sell gift cards?

Yes — our E-Gift Cards are available from $10 to $500 and delivered straight to your inbox, ready to forward or print. They never expire, carry no fees, and can be used across multiple orders until the balance runs out.

Can I use two discount codes at once?

Only one discount code can be applied per order. Gift cards are different — they work like a payment method, so you can use a gift card and a discount code on the same order.

How do I get 10% off my first order?

Join our newsletter and we'll email you a 10% off welcome code, plus early access to new releases and the occasional dram of whisky wisdom. No spam — unsubscribe any time.

03

Returns & Breakages

5 questions
What happens if my order breaks in transit?

It's covered by our Breakage Promise. Every glass is individually wrapped in a custom protective box, but if something still arrives broken, just email us a photo of the damaged item and its packaging and we'll send a replacement free of charge. No return, no questions asked.

How long do I have to make a return?

You have 30 days from delivery to request a return. Items must be unused, in their original packaging, with proof of purchase. Email info@maltandbrew.com first — we'll approve the return and send you instructions. Returns sent without approval can't be accepted.

Which items can't be returned?
  • Engraved and personalised items — unless they arrive damaged, faulty or incorrect
  • Sale and clearance items
  • Gift cards

This doesn't affect your rights under Australian Consumer Law — faulty or misdescribed items are always covered.

When will I receive my refund?

Once your return arrives and is inspected, we'll confirm your refund by email. Approved refunds go back to your original payment method automatically — your bank may take a few extra days to post it.

I received the wrong or a faulty item — what now?

Sorry about that! Inspect your order when it arrives and contact us straight away at info@maltandbrew.com with your order number and a photo. We'll make it right — usually with a replacement on us.

Glassware & Care

8 questions
Are your glasses dishwasher safe?

No — all Malt & Brew glassware should be handwashed. Dishwasher heat and harsh detergents can cloud crystal and dull its shine over time. A quick rinse in warm water with a soft cloth keeps your glasses crystal clear for years.

For the full routine, read our guide: How to clean and store your whisky glassware.

Is your crystal lead-free?

Yes. All of our crystal glassware — decanters included — is made from lead-free crystal.

Lead-free crystal replaces lead with barium, zinc and magnesium oxides, creating a glass that's actually stronger than traditional leaded crystal while keeping the same brilliance and weight.

Research shows it is not safe to store whisky, wine or other spirits in leaded crystal — so take care when buying decanters, especially vintage ones.

Is it safe to store whisky in your decanters long-term?

Absolutely. Because our decanters are 100% lead-free crystal, your whisky can live in them safely for months or years. Keep the decanter out of direct sunlight and the stopper snug, and your dram will taste just as the distiller intended.

Which glass should I choose for whisky?

It depends on how you drink. A wide tumbler suits whisky over ice or with a whisky stone; a tulip-shaped nosing glass concentrates aromas for neat sipping; and our Japanese-inspired glasses bring artistry to either style.

Our guide to choosing the best whisky glass breaks it down in detail.

Is it whisky or whiskey?

Both are correct — it depends where the spirit was made. Scotland, Japan and Australia spell it whisky; Ireland and the United States spell it whiskey (bourbon included). We follow the Scottish and Japanese tradition our glassware draws from, so you'll see whisky across our site — but our glasses and decanters serve both spellings equally well.

Curious what actually separates them beyond the spelling? Read our guide: Bourbon vs Whisky — the differences that matter.

Do all glasses come in a wooden box?

Not all — some designs come in a premium wooden box, others in our custom protective gift box. Browse glasses with a wooden box or glasses with a gift box. Either way, every glass arrives gift-ready.

Where is your glassware made?

It varies by piece — every product page has a Manufacturing tab detailing where and how that item is made. Every piece is quality-checked at our Melbourne warehouse before dispatch.

How should I clean and store my glassware?

Handwash in warm (not hot) water, dry with a lint-free cloth, and store glasses upright away from direct sunlight. Avoid stacking crystal. For decanters, rinse with warm water and let them air-dry fully before restoppering.

Gifting & Engraving

4 questions
Can my order be gift-wrapped?

Yes! Add our Gift Wrapping service to your cart and leave your message in the order notes — we'll wrap your order beautifully and hand-write your card.

Do you offer engraving?

We do — selected glassware and decanters can be personalised with engraving from $10 per item, turning a great gift into an heirloom. Glasses fit up to 3 characters (perfect for initials); decanters fit up to 15 characters.

Buying for a golfer? The Hampton golf ball whisky glass takes engraved initials beautifully — marked the way they mark their ball.

Engraving adds around 3 business days to processing, so allow a little extra time. Engraved items can't be returned or exchanged unless faulty.

Will the parcel include prices or an invoice?

No — we never include prices or paper invoices in the parcel. Your receipt goes to your email, so it's safe to ship gifts directly to the lucky recipient.

Do you offer wholesale or corporate orders?

Yes — our glassware is available at wholesale quantities for bars, stores and corporate gift hampers. Enquire via our wholesale page and our team will come back to you within 2 business days.
